This post is about our Living Spaces Trenton Saddle Brown Leather Sectional Review, covering why this family-friendly leather sectional with power recliners has been the perfect addition to our home.

When we started shopping for a new sectional, our main goal was simple: find something big enough for the whole family, comfortable enough for everyday lounging, and durable enough to survive kids and dog. Leather was at the top of our list since it’s practical and easy to clean, but we also wanted the space to feel cozy and inviting for family movie nights. After some searching, we landed on the Living Spaces Trenton Saddle Brown Leather 6-Piece Power Reclining Modular Sectional — and it has quickly become everyone’s favorite seat in the house! Below I’m sharing our honest review after living with it as a family of five (plus a dog!).
Why We Chose the Living Spaces Trenton Leather Sectional

We wanted something that:
- Looked stylish but still practical for everyday life – As an interior designer and a mom of three boys, it’s important to me to choose quality pieces that will last but also fit seamlessly into the aesthetic of our home.
- Offered plenty of space for our family of five – We all like to spread out, and having enough room so the kids aren’t kicking each other is a must.
- Was easy to clean – I can’t even tell you how much milk, juice, and popsicles have been spilled on our past sofas. Leather was a no-brainer for easy wipe-ups.
- Had reclining options for movie nights and lazy weekends – We’re turning this family room into our go-to movie spot, so we wanted something extremely comfortable for everyone.
The Trenton sectional stood out because of its saddle brown leather upholstery (the color is so warm and works beautifully with the other finishes in our home), modular design, and power reclining features—all at a price point that felt like a great value. The cup holder and storage console was an added bonus I wasn’t specifically looking for, but it has turned out to be one of our favorite features!

Comfort & Functionality
The first thing we noticed about the Living Spaces Trenton Leather Sectional is how incredibly comfortable it is. The seats have just the right balance of support and softness — not too stiff, but not so squishy or low that you sink in. The back is also high enough to provide a supportive headrest, even for taller people.
The power recliners are one of our favorite features. They adjust smoothly at the push of a (hidden) button, and there are two ways to adjust – one button reclines the back and raises the foot rest and the other button controls the headrest.
The built-in console with cup holders and hidden storage has also been a feature that we surprisingly are loving! We were debating whether to include this piece and I’m so happy we did. It’s perfect for keeping remotes, chargers, wet wipes, and even snacks tucked away while still looking sleek. I wasn’t sure if we’d use this feature much, but it’s become so convenient to have!

Family & Pet-Friendly Leather
One of the biggest reasons we chose a leather sectional was practicality. With three kids and a dog, spills and messes are a daily reality. The top-grain saddle leather on the Trenton has already proven to be super easy to clean — most spills wipe right up with a damp cloth, and it doesn’t hold onto smells the way fabric sometimes can.
The finish feels soft and comfortable but also durable enough to handle everyday wear and tear. I love that the saddle brown color hides little smudges and fingerprints, while still adding warmth and richness to our family room. And the leather is not the type that scratches easily!
Another bonus? Pet hair doesn’t cling to leather the way it does to fabric. Our dog hops up on the sectional all the time, and I can quickly brush off any fur or dirt without dragging out the vacuum.

Style & Size
One of the things I love most about the Living Spaces Trenton Saddle Brown Leather Sectional is that it doesn’t look like a recliner. So many reclining sofas feel bulky or dated, but this one has a clean, modern silhouette that could easily pass for a standard sectional. The recliner buttons are hidden inside the seats, which keeps the look sleek and uncluttered.
Another big selling point for us was the flexibility. The Trenton is a modular sectional, and Living Spaces even has a “sectional builder” tool on their website that lets you design the exact size and shape that works best for your space. Whether you want a smaller setup for an apartment or a large configuration for a basement rec room, you can customize it to fit.
For us, we wanted something big enough for our whole family to stretch out on, but not so oversized that it swallowed the room. I’m so happy we were able to fit this larger configuration into our family room — it gives us plenty of seating without feeling overwhelming.
Pros & Cons of the Living Spaces Trenton Sectional

No sofa is perfect, but this one comes pretty close for our family. Here’s what we’ve loved — and a few things to keep in mind:
Pros
- Stylish design that doesn’t scream “recliner” – The hidden buttons and clean lines make it look like a classic sectional rather than a bulky recliner sofa.
- Customizable configurations – Thanks to the Living Spaces sectional builder tool, you can design the size and shape that fits your space best.
- Comfortable seating – Supportive yet cozy, with smooth power recliners that adjust at the push of a button.
- Family and pet-friendly leather – Easy to clean, durable, and forgiving of spills, sticky fingers, and dog hair. Does not scratch.
- Convenient details – Cup holders, a hidden storage console, and charging ports that are practical without sacrificing style.
- Plenty of space – Big enough for our whole family to spread out, but still fits comfortably in our family room.
Cons
- Large footprint – Definitely measure your space carefully, especially if you’re considering one of the bigger configurations. Also keep in mind that you will need 5.5″ of clearance space behind the back for it to recline fully.
- Power requirement – Since the recliners need to be plugged in, you’ll want outlets nearby (or plan to use extension cords).
- Leather feel – Like most leather sofas, it can feel a little cool to the touch in winter (though nothing a cozy blanket can’t fix!).
Delivery & Warranty Details
A couple of extra details worth mentioning:
- Delivery – Living Spaces offers free shipping, or you can upgrade to Full Service Delivery for $139, which includes assembly in your room and trash removal. We chose the full service option and it was so worth it. The delivery was smooth and fast, and not having to deal with a pile of cardboard and packaging was a huge plus (though we did keep one big box for the kids to play in — best part of delivery day for them!).
- Warranty – We also decided to purchase the Uniters 5-Year Protection Plan. It covers both accidental damage and manufacturing defects, which gave us peace of mind with three kids and a dog. I love that if you don’t use the warranty during the five years, you get the cost refunded as store credit.
Touring the Living Spaces Store
I also had the chance to tour the brand-new Living Spaces store that opened in Lone Tree, Colorado, and I was honestly so impressed — not just with the huge selection and beautiful designs, but with how family-friendly the whole experience was.
The store itself is gorgeous and laid out in a way that makes it easy (and fun) to wander through all the different setups. My kids loved exploring with us, especially since Living Spaces makes shopping with little ones so much easier. They have car-themed strollers for toddlers, and even a café/bar inside with snacks, coffee, and drinks — yes, even wine and beer for just $2! If you make a same-day purchase in-store, they’ll refund your food and beverage tab up to $50!

Some Living Spaces locations even take it up a notch with amazing kids’ play areas that include up to two hours of free childcare. When we visited the Thornton, CO, store, we dropped our kids off at the huge play structure, and they had the best time. Meanwhile, we actually got to focus on sofa shopping without constantly chasing them around. Honestly, I think that’s such a genius part of the business.

And of course, I couldn’t resist checking out a few other departments. I tested out some of the mattresses in the sleep section upstairs — and now a new mattress with an adjustable base is officially at the top of my wish list!
Final Thoughts

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our Trenton sectional and the entire Living Spaces experience. The sofa checks every box we had on our list — it’s stylish, comfortable, practical for our family of five, and surprisingly doesn’t look like a recliner (which I love). The fact that Living Spaces makes the shopping and delivery process so smooth, plus offers family-friendly in-store perks, really sealed the deal for us.
If you’re in the market for a new sectional — or honestly any furniture for your home — I highly recommend checking out Living Spaces. Whether you build your dream sectional online or make a trip to one of their beautiful stores, you’ll find a huge selection, great prices, and thoughtful details that make the whole process enjoyable from start to finish.
