This post shares the best kitchen island pendant lights.

We remodeled our kitchen a couple years ago and I absolutely love cooking in here now! We got new cabinets, floors, appliances, and countertops. I am so happy with how everything turned out!
I love the finishes of the cabinets so much—the creamy white color at the perimeter works so well with the white oak finish at the island. It is definitely my dream kitchen and I feel so lucky to have been able to design it! The backsplash tile, cabinet hardware, and the kitchen island pendant lights were particularly fun to pick out.
There are so many great options for kitchen island pendant lights that I had such a hard time deciding which direction to go! The two main looks I had trouble deciding between were rattan style shades and milk glass shades. I love the look of the rattan shades but I also know that they are pretty trendy right now. However, pendants are very easy to switch out so they would be simple to replace. I also love the classic look of the milk glass pendants and think they would give off a nice glow at night as well!
After all my research, I decided to put together a roundup of kitchen island lighting ideas to try to narrow down my choices! And hopefully help you all on your hunt for lighting as well!
The Best Kitchen Island Pendant Lights
Henry Pendant
The mix of metal and glass on this pretty pendant light makes it a standout pick for a minimalist kitchen design. You can pick the shade color and diameter as well as an antique brass or dark bronze finish.
Rattan Taper Pendant
Serena and Lily has the cutest kitchen pendant lights! This one has such a laidback look, making it a chic addition to any type of dining area. It also comes in black wicker.
Caged Pendant Light
This pendant light is the perfect mix between modern and minimalist. The wire shade offers up optimal lighting and it’s under $150—a total steal!
Brass Mini Pendant
If you’re looking for something smaller and more understated, these polished brass pendants would be a great pick. The reviews are all really positive and I think three of them would look so nice above a kitchen island.
Flora Rattan Pendant
I love this rattan pendant for a beachy or boho styled kitchen. The wicker material makes a statement yet it’s subtle enough so you won’t get sick of it.
Farmhouse Pendant Light
The combination of black and gold on this pendant light caught my eye. I also love the dome shape of the shade! Bonus: It has nearly 300 4.5-star reviews and it’s available on Amazon.
Hurricane Brass Pendant
These are so unique! The frosted white finish paired with the brass gold detailing gives the pendant a fresh, modern look. They’re suitable for ceilings up to 12 feet and they’re adjustable with six feet of cord to work with. Did I mention that they’re under $52?
Single Cylinder Pendant
Sometimes it’s best to keep your lighting simple and opt for more color or texture in other places of your kitchen, like a nice rug or paint color. These single cylinder pendants have 2,700 4.8-star reviews! Buyers rave about the quality and say that they’re easy to put together. They come in chrome, brass, nickel, and black finishes.
Coastal Dome Rattan Pendant
Love the rattan pendant look but on a budget? These pretty lights are just $60 but they look much more expensive. A great designer dupe!
Single Globe Pendant
Go with a round pendant to create visual interest in your kitchen. These are simple enough that they won’t go out of style. I like that they’re dimmable so you can really set the mood!
