This post shares simple Christmas decor ideas for every area of your house. From the living room to your mantle, I’ve got you covered!
I honestly can’t believe that the holiday season is already in full swing. It snuck up on me so fast this year and I’m frankly feeling a bit behind! I know a lot of people prefer to hold off on Christmas decorating until after Thanksgiving, so I figured I’d round up some of my favorite seasonal finds.
All of these picks are proof that you certainly don’t need to go all out when it comes to holiday decor. Even just a few touches sprinkled throughout your house can add a sense of charm and festivity.
Rather than focusing all of your attention on your living room holiday decor, think about the ways you can incorporate the season in less frequently decorated spaces of your house. Last year, I decided to decorate my kids’ rooms for Christmas and it made them both so happy. I ended up loving it just as much as they did and plan to incorporate holiday decor into our bedrooms on a yearly basis.
I also think it’s fun to deck out your kitchen for Christmas since so much time is spent in that space (between hosting holiday meals and staying in to cook during the winter months).
To help you make your home cozy and inviting, here are 30 simple Christmas decor ideas that you can use year after year. Happy decorating!

Use garland and faux stems to add texture to your kitchen
It’s no secret that garland is a holiday decor essential, but I think it’s fun to use it in less expected ways. Give things a fresh take by draping garland over windows, along your countertop, on your front porch, or on a media stand.
I wrapped string lights in the garland above my kitchen window and love the soft glow it gives the room at night. There are a lot of battery operated string lights that would work, but these are similar to the lights I used.
I also love to add faux stems to vases for an instant seasonal feel. It’s an affordable way to incorporate holiday colors and textures while making a big impact. Opt for stems with pine needles, pinecones, or berries.
Last but not least, try hanging a holiday wreath on your range hood. I started doing this a few years back and have loved the way it looks!

Create a centerpiece with bottle brush trees
Even if you don’t eat every meal at your dining room table, it’s still fun to create a centerpiece for the holidays. I recently put together an elegant tablescape and love how it turned out, but for a more simple approach, use items like bottle brush trees and a table runner to set the mood.

Make a statement with your mantle decor
Decorating my mantle is one of my favorite parts of prepping for Christmas. It’s fun to switch the design up over the years, and I like that even though it’s a small space it still packs a big punch.
I love incorporating candlesticks on my mantle to give things a moodier vibe (plus, they’re easy to reuse throughout different seasons). I also go a bit overboard with the amount of garland I use so that things look lush and eye-catching.
Pro tip: Use a few different types of garland strands that have different textures, colors, and lengths to create depth and more visual interest.

Use your tree as a focal point
Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a pretty tree! I always have so much fun decorating my tree, but I know that it can be an intimidating and tedious task for some people.
Rather than overthinking your Christmas tree decor, try to use the tree itself as a statement piece. Trees with faux snow and fluffy branches look so stunning on their ownāand so many of the fake trees look real these days.
Regardless of how you decorate your tree, make sure to finish things off with a pretty tree skirt or collar. Find some of my favorites below.

Add some twinkle with string lights, lanterns, or candles
Whether you’re working with a small budget or limited space, one great way to add festivity to your house during the holidays is by hanging string lights. There’s something about them that instantly transforms a room into a cozier place.
We hung these star shaped string lights against our living room windows last year and loved how it turned out. You can also use lanterns and candles to achieve a similar glow.

Make your living room cozier with throw blankets and pillows
This one might go without saying, but don’t underestimate the impact some new throw pillows and blankets can make. There are so many cute options for each season, and they’re fun to pull out each year. I’m eyeing the finds below for my own house!

Incorporate decor in your bedrooms
Like I mentioned at the beginning of my post, there’s something really special about sprinkling holiday decor throughout the bedrooms in your house. It doesn’t take much to add seasonality to a bedroom, and it just feels way more festive.

I love your entry and fireplace wall
What color green paint is it?
I moved in to a small mobile home knowing the paint was bad (cheap flat white)
I would live to paint the entry the same.
Many Thanks
